Join us for an unforgettable event beginning at 3PM with an in-depth artist talk led by Erika Roberts, followed by a showcase at 5:30PM that pays homage to James Baldwin through live music and poignant spoken word performances.

Erika Roberts, creative strategist & poet, will lead an in-depth artist talk. Expect an insightful exploration into Baldwin's enduring influence on literature and civil rights.

Our musical showcase will honor the legendary James Baldwin through homages to the soul-stirring music of Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, and Billie Holiday, and Sam Cooke, complemented by the evocative words of poets and the graceful movements of dancers.

Immerse yourself in the profound influence of Baldwin's work as it resonates through the powerful jazz compositions of Miles Davis, the timeless vocals of Ella Fitzgerald, the poignant melodies of Nina Simone, the smoothness of Sam Cooke, and the haunting blues of Billie Holiday.
