The Legacy Music Festival (LMF) provides a stage for Black musicians in Chattanooga, acknowledging the underrepresentation many talented performers face in local events. Our festival aims to showcase the diverse musical talents in our community, spanning classical, reggae, rock, hip-hop, soul, R&B, gospel, country, and more.
As the Chattanooga Festival of Black Arts & Ideas honors contemporary African-descendant artists, we recognize the need to pay homage to pioneers who shaped Black music. Therefore, we request all performers include music from genre trailblazers in their set, celebrating the profound influence of Black musicians, from African drummers to the groundbreaking sounds of Sister Rosetta Tharpe and Little Richard.
